Dr. Demetrios Jim Saclamacis, or simply "Dr. Jim" is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba (go Blue Bombers!) and of Hellenic descent, (which makes him even more proud to be part of a profession that has been practiced since the Ancient Greeks!)

His experience with chiropractic was as a patient during his teen years. Dr. Jim was involved in an auto accident for a condition known as whiplash. Prior to the accident, Dr. Jim was a frequent headache sufferer, and tended to get colds and flus quite often. He noticed after receiving Chiropractic care for several months, that not only did his injury improve, but that other aspects of his overall health had also improved.  He no longer would get headaches like before and couldn't remember the last time he had to stay home to fight off a cold or flu.
His Chiropractor explained that subluxations where present in his spine (even before the accident) which were misalignments causing nerve flow interference. Fascinated by the results and his improved health, it was then he decided to serve mankind as a Chiropractor. After a gruelling, but exciting 7 years, Dr. Saclamacis graduated with Honors in 1997 from the world renowned Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. It was there where he learned the true meaning of chiropractic and its strong philosophy about the power of the body's innate ability to heal itself.

Dr. Saclamacis returned home to complete his Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board requirements and received his certification and licensing in June of 1998. He is an active registered member of the Ontario College of Chiropractors aswell as a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association,  the Ontario Chiropractic Association, the Chiropractic Awareness Council, the Canadian Chiropractors Protective Association, the International Chiropractors Association, and the Halton/Peel Chiropractic Society.

Dr. Saclamacis began his Chiropractic career as a Chiropractic Associate in Winnipeg and then in Milton, Ontario. During this time, his unique approach to patient care has kept him busy and successful. Axis Chiropractic was born in April 1999 to better reflect his unique vision and purpose to patient care based on unlocking the patient's central innate ability to achieve optimal, physical, social and mental well being, what we call full health expression.

Presently, Dr. Saclamacis owns and directs a family wellness-based practice in Mississauga. He is well trained in many spinal adjusting techniques for all ages; utilizing specific methodologies such as Thompson, Gonstead, Activator and Upper Cervical to locate and correct Vertebral Subluxations. He also recommends and offers a complete range of nutritional & herbal supplements, custom prescription orthotics, neck/back postural supports, as well as providing spinal health workshops to patients and outside groups.

Recently, his knowledge and services have been appreciated by The Dance PAC studio as a team chiropractor for it's competitive dancers. He is also a member of the Austin Agency of Health Professionals providing on-call service to the film and entertainment industry.

Dr. Saclamacis is proud to not only help others be healthy, but to also live according to what he teaches. Even Dr. Jim and his family get their spine checked at least once per week. Dr. Jim is more than happy to be able to use his knowledge to help the lives of those around him.

Dr. Saclamacis says:

" As a Chiropractor, I firmly believe that all people should be responsible for their own health, safety and pursuit of happiness through proper spinal maintenance, diet, exercise, and (when only absolutely necessary) medical intervention. I believe that many negative health conditions can be relieved, cured, or improved upon with natural methods such as regular chiropractic care, good nutrition, etc, and without the use of foreign and sometimes toxic chemical medications. Many of the negative aspects of disease states can be improved by removing the spinal nerve stress (Vertebral Subluxation). It is my goal to aid and help all who come to me, to improve their health."
