YOUR FEET

Your feet are the foundation of your entire body. The structure of your foot supports your entire weight. They do an incredible amount of work each day. The smallest imbalance can cause many different problems.

The symptoms of faulty foot mechanics may begin with any of the following:

 Localized foot pain
 Bunions, hammer toes
 Arch, heel pain
 Leg, knee pain
 Hip or back pain, even neck pain;

You can hurt all over!

Problems in your feet can cause
a “chain reaction” of symptoms,
including: uneven shoe wear,
fallen arches, ankle or heel pain,
bunions, irregular gait, back
pain, neck pain and even
headaches.

5 Red Flags of Spinal Instability
1) Foot flair during gait
2) Excessive shoe wear
3) Low medial arches
4) Bowed Achilles tendon
5) Internal knee rotation

WHAT ARE ORTHOTICS?

Custom Orthotics are specially designed devices that are worn inside the shoe to control abnormal foot function and/or accommodate painful areas of the foot. Orthotics work on the feet in the same way braces work on the teeth – by exerting gentle consistent pressure to bring foot muscles and bones back into proper alignment.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

At Axis Chiropractic, we help design foot orthotics to help correct your specific body imbalance.
  • A thorough posture, foot and gait exam is conducted.
  • 3D foot molds are created in a non-weight bearing position. These are used to make custom fitted corrective orthotics that slip into your shoes.
  • You will quickly adapt to having these inserts in your shoes, improving your foot balance and alignment.
  •
    HOW DO ORTHOTICS HELP?
In your shoes your feet rest comfortably on the orthotics. Your feet are gently and consistently forced into the correct functioning position for walking, running and standing. Pressure points, improper rotation of the foot, painful muscle strain, and abnormal forces on the legs, hips and spine are eliminated because orthotics enable your feet to function properly.

Orthotics are so comfortable, and help your feet work so naturally that you will want to wear them as much as possible.

A combination of both Chiropractic Adjustments and orthotics are a great step toward body balance and natural health. Please call the office for more concerns that you may have.
